How much does it cost? Why has 5D Watts cost advantage?

 

To understand 5DW cost benefit we compare to the most popular flat solar typical panels.

Cost of typical flat plate solar panel include:

1. The cost of the PV cells plus

2. Panel’s “structure”

a. the glass plate on which the cells are bonded,
b. the frame around each panel
c. support that hold the panel tilted at the right angle.

The cost for flat standard plate PV is high because of the cost of the PV cells.

Where is the difference?

In our concentrated system cost of PV cells is about 30 times lower. Our installation cost including mirror and tracking system is similar to the cost typical flat plate having of glass and frames.

Having concertation – we are able to reduce solar cells costs –
MOST IMPORTANT we produce four times more energy.

 

Having more energy and lower cost we are able to reduce time to payback in a significant way.

The promise of 5DWatts is to have a better payback related to our ability to use heat energy for cooling and heating living spaces.

5DWatts with heat energy collection makes our system much more efficient than flat plate PV panels.

The payback relates to cost / price of electricity.

Cost on average for KWh is between 11 and 35 cents.

We implemented new the most efficient solar cells presently available in the standard market. However, there is a constant improvement in solar cells efficiency.

If we will find economical new solar cells technology – we will implement to follow progress. The principle will not change – concentration is about 30 to 1 – and if we can improve electrical production we will implement change. Better cells can improve the amount of electrical energy collected – but overall energy collected will remain similar.

The payback time of our system depends most on our ability to use energy that we collected. We have the lowest cost – best efficiency – shortest payback time.

We do not have different sun – just we recover sun energy any possible way. We use heat in any useful strategy.

PV flat panel efficiency is typical between 8-15%. Why is low? Most of the sun energy are lost – it is heat.

The heat build-up in PV modules reduces the electrical output by 0.4-0.5% for every 1°C above its rated output temperature. Most flat PV installations reach temperatures as high as 90°C, the actual efficiency of traditional PV panel is low. High capital costs and low energy production result in very long paybacks. 5DW product is extremely positive in creating new sufficient energy system for delivery of all cooling and heating needs including water – and even swimming pool or spas.

We offer 5DW system that is economical – greatly reduced cost of solar system – increasing efficiency from about 8 – 15% of flat panel to about 80% when using solar DC electrical and collected heat for cooling house. We also have same system able to deliver heating during colder months.
The traditional investment cost for cooling home using solar was about $ 4500.00 per KW of energy. We working to reduce this cost multiple times.
With solar cooling and heating that also provide hot water and a similar amount of electrical power to traditional flat panel – we can drop payback time to months. This is very promising!

We do enter solar house cooling and heating for similar or lower cost than the cost of flat solar panels alone.
Incentives – tax benefits are available on rates starting at 30% cost rebates.

We understand that price – cost of energy and payback time is important. We produce using lowest cost patented process manufacturing. We use the lowest cost but efficient quality materials. The economy is the guiding force in all what we do.

5DW is able to compete with flat systems on price – but have up to 5 times more energy. Heat energy driving adsorption chiller unit is a huge economy bonus.

The 5DW is ready for almost 90% of homes in the USA that have an air conditioner installed. Think about other countries – like India with 2% cooling system at home – we can drive this market in the most economical way.

Collecting heat has the real great value. In the 5DW system, we generate over 3 value units of heat and one value unit of DC electricity. PV power is equal to same size traditional PV flat panel – but with the heat we have about 80% efficiency. Why units of value power are important? – with 5DW, we have about 5 times lower payback ratio / time.

We capture as much energy as possible. We accumulate heat as a hot liquid that we use to cool or heat home right at the location. The electricity that is generated is used as 24V DC to operate all motors – pumps – lights etc. We collect a lot of energy that sun provides for each individual homeowner.

How much space we need?

Each machine is 195 cm x 80 cm.

Each machine needs space for easy access to electrical and connection box. There is limited space required between units.
Units rest “sleep position” about 10 cm from the ground. We offer installation ballast based platform that has a small enclosure to eliminate space between reflector and ground.

There are not flexible connections – all is enclosed and secure. Only trained and certify personnel / installer can provide service. Service by others voids the warranty.
